Tyla Lee Coertzen

Tyla has assisted the Primerio team in various matters and has experience in matters relating to commercial and competition law, litigation, white-collar crime and regulatory work. Tyla completed her studies at the University of Pretoria and the University of the Witwatersrand.

In addition to her practice areas, Tyla is a contributor to Africanantitrust and Africanantifraud and regularly assists the Primerio team with various advocacy initiatives.

Significant Matters:

Tyla formed part of the team which:

  • represented a client in making submissions regarding allegations of abuse of dominance and predatory pricing before the Eswatini Competition Commission;
  • prepared and drafted the merger filing forms required and obtained merger approval before the COMESA Competition Commission in respect of a private equity fund’s acquisition of a global chemicals manufacturer; and
  • currently representing a global automotive parts producer before the South African Competition Tribunal in relation to price fixing and market allocation complaint referrals.
